The Alliance’s guest will be Federico Santi of Newport’s Public Sculpture Commission. He will talk about the commission’s work and the wealth of sculpture to be found in Newport’s public spaces. The city owns 16 public sculptures of historic value that have been donated, dating back to the early 20th century. They are placed throughout Newport on public and private property. Prior to the commission’s creation, no entity oversaw or was responsible for the sculptures’ upkeep and maintenance.

Arts Around the Fire is an opportunity for artists, writers, performers and audiences to engage with colleagues about events affecting the cultural community, and to learn about new ideas and artistic endeavors. Interested parties are invited to sign up for an artist membership or become a supporting member of the Alliance, a coalition of individuals and non-profits committed to the advancement of arts and culture in Newport County.
