Join us to celebrate the dedication of Blithewold’s exhibition space, which will be officially named the Marjorie Van Wickle Lyon Gallery. Marjorie was the eldest daughter of Augustus and Bessie Van Wickle. She began painting at age 14 and continued painting throughout her life, often in Europe. After her last trip to Paris at age 90, Marjorie returned home and began converting her sketches to full-sized paintings, which were shown at the Bristol Art Museum. The relationship between Blithewold and the Bristol Art Museum continues today with the official opening of the Bristol Art Museum’s exhibit, “Singular Focus: Bristol Art Museum Takes Root at Blithewold.”
Tea and scones will be served along with a Prosecco toast.
