Join artist and educator, Andre Lee Bassuet, in this enlightening one-day cyanotype workshop. Cyanotype, or “sun print”, is a photographic printing technique used by artists, botanists and architects for almost 200 years using the power of the sun and UV light. In this workshop, you’ll learn all the steps required to create your cyanotype prints: the preparation of the solution, the creation of images on transparent media using both digital photographic negatives and hand-drawn negatives, exposing the mediums to light and fixing color. Discover how to apply your prints onto different surfaces such as paper, fabric and wood with the use of photos, plants, flowers and even objects. All materials are included in the price of tuition. *Please note, there will be no formal lunch break, but participants are welcome to bring a bagged lunch and pause to eat anytime after the morning demonstrations.
